AFRICAN HOPE FOUNDATION OF GHANA is a not-for-profit organization, dedicated to improving the lives of people who have been infected with HIV/AIDS. In 1998, it was founded as a non-governmental organization within the Kumasi region of Ghana, West Africa. Apart from working with individuals who have been infected with HIV/AIDS this organizations is committed to assisting local initiatives to achieve sustainable development. AHFOG is registered as non-profit company in Ghana as No. G8527. It is also registered with the Department of Social Welfare in Ghana (DSW1458) AHFOG philosophy seeks to strengthen marginalized communities, women and youth to realize their own strengths and how they can be applied to face the different challenges of the world. AHFOG helps to empower vulnerable individuals to make a livelihood on a sustainable basis and live in dignity.
They are committed to educating and preventing the greater spread of STIs and HIV/AIDS. In addition they try to assist those in marginalized communities to develop sustainable skills for a better quality of life. Volunteers must be of age 18 or above with minimum education of high school.

Volunteers can assist by doing following tasks:- Teaching at the Gisela Wurth-Boahen Vocational Institute (girls ages 14-25) in basic academics: English, Math, Business, Science, etc. Home-based visitation of HIV Patients. Facilitating in Peer education and Public education on HIV/AIDS (to different vulnerable groups). Assisting in the office (typing proposals, creating promotional materials, etc.) Collecting statistics on HIV/AIDS & STI's from hospitals or setting up a drop-in center for individuals who are HIV positive.
