FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
PRLog (Press Release) –
Jun 09, 2009 – Pittsburgh, PA -- Clothes dryers are reported as being a major cause of 15,000 house fires annually, costing millions of dollars in damages, deaths and injuries, each year. In the United States, it is a law that all gas dryers must be vented to the outdoors. Dryer Vent Wizard advises that dryer vents should be checked to be sure they meet the codes of cities, states and manufacturers.
Greg Longe and his partner, John Lynch franchise Dryer Vent Wizard, dry Clothes, Safe Homes, a nationwide chain of dryer vent cleaning, repair, replacement and alteration specialists in the U.S. In cooperation with the National Fire Prevention Administration, they are working to increase consumer awareness of proper ventilation for clothes dryers. Proper dryer vent installation includes the path of the dryer duct. Any lint that escapes the dryer’s lint filter should be blown outside. Any accumulation which occurs in the ducting is usually a sign of poor air flow, especially at the location(s) it occurs. In such cases, the vent line should be evaluated to locate and correct any deficiencies it may have. Many appliance manufacturers have made it a policy to advise service companies and consumers that the use of vinyl, plastic or flexible foil no longer meets current safety codes. They are also advising that dryer exhaust ducts be within maximums provided for length and the number of bends and turns. Newer homes are built with convenience for the homeowner in mind; unfortunately, not enough consideration was given to safety and efficiency as the laundry room is now located near the center of the home, upstairs between bedrooms where most dirty laundry originates. Now the distance from the dryer to the vent outside is considerably longer. Proper installation of a dryer vent system is important in this situation. Dryer Vent Wizard installs dryer vents and dryer exhaust ducts in homes and businesses across the nation. Visit http://www.dryerventwizard.com to find a location near you.
