Pittsburgh, PA -- Clothes dryers are reported as being a major cause of 15,000 house fires annually, costing millions of dollars in damages, deaths and injuries, each year. Newer homes are built with convenience for the homeowner in mind; unfortunately, not enough consideration was given to safety and efficiency as the laundry room is now located near the center of the home, upstairs between bedrooms where most dirty laundry originates.
