Zircon Computing announces that Dr. Douglas C. Schmidt, PhD has joined the company at Chief Technology Officer  

Dr. Schmidt will lead technology strategy and solutions, community development, and external strategic partnerships

Wayne, New Jersey – June 5, 2009 -- Zircon Computing, developers of the world’s fastest adaptive distributed computing software – Zircomp ® - announced today that Dr. Douglas C. Schmidt, PhD has joined the company as Chief Technology Officer.  

“We have known and worked with Dr. Schmidt for over ten years, through our relationship with the ACE ™ and TAO ™ software development communities” says Alexander Mintz, CEO of Zircon. “We are extremely proud and excited to have Doug as part of our leadership team”. Dr. Schmidt is Associate Chair of Computer Science and Engineering at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee. He is a full Professor, with tenure. He also serves as a member of the ACE and TAO development team. “This is a natural next step in my association with Mr. Mintz and the Zircon Computing team”, says Dr. Schmidt. He adds “I’m excited to join this exclusive group of professionals”. “We see this as the right time to leverage what’s happening in the cloud computing, high performance, and distributed computing markets and the capabilities of the Zircomp ® Software Suite to develop and enable better solutions for our customers”
