The NAA MId-South Chapter welcomes Dr. Bowman's presentation on algae biofuel production as vital to our nation's energy security. Another top speaker, Dr. Ann Wilkie of the Univ. of Florida will describe her research on local prospecting for oleaginous algae. The day’s agenda also includes presentations from Ronald Pate of Sandia Labs, Fluid Imaging Technologies, Aquatic Eco-Systems, Femtobeam, LLC, Millipore Technologies, BARD, LLC, Optimal Energy Partners, and Dr. Barry Rosen of the FL Integrated Science Center.

"In addition to our stellar line-up of speakers, the National Algae Association Mid-South Chapter is pleased to present our attendees with the unusual opportunity to have their local algae species classified by state-of-the-art analysis systems by both Fluid Imaging Technologies and Millipore Corp," says Tamra Fakhoorian, president of the chapter. “In addition, we are honored to have Barry Cohen, founder and director of the NAA detail the new NAA buying consortium for our members. This marks a huge step in driving down costs associated with algae production equipment.”

NAA Founder and Executive Director Barry Cohen says, "Having algae analysis technology available, courtesy of Fluid Imaging Technologies and Millipore adds a new learning and value-added opportunity for our attendees. In addition, Aquatic Eco-Systems’ wide range of equipment, expert clarification on the new DOE Recovery Act Funding Opportunities and late-breaking research supports NAA's mission to fast-track the commercialization of the algae industry and significantly enhances our efforts."
