Chipguard
Chipguard has been launched as an inexpensive safety solution for use with all Bridgeport-type vertical milling machines. The guard is designed to prevent metal chips from flying into the operator’s face which can cause serious injury.
The Chipguard easily snaps onto a machine’s quill and can be quickly removed when necessary. The clear, scratch-resistant Chipguard is made of Lexan, a highly durable polycarbonate resin thermoplastic designed to replace traditional glass and Plexiglas where placement requires a strong and impact resistance material. The clear-view Lexan material also enables the operator to visibly examine their work in progress.
As an ideal safety enhancement solution, controls the dispersion of metal fragments at the source – the milling cutter. Chipguard accommodates cutters up to 3 inches in diameter.
