June 8, 2009 - PRLog -- Savannah, GA (USA)--The name Aberjhani has never been an easy one to categorize when it comes to world literature because the author has made notable contributions to several major genres: fiction, creative nonfiction, history, journalism, and poetry. That achievement most recently was documented in a book of celebrity profiles about individuals who have followed their dreams to hard-won success, and on different websites where he has been a featured author.

While his newest book release is in fact The Bridge of Silver Wings 2009, a collection of poetry that includes presidential inauguration poems documenting the impact of U.S. President Barack Obama, much of his most recent work, which some rank among his most influential, has taken the form of journalism and blogs. Why such an eclectic body of work?

“It’s not about confusing anybody and it’s not just to indulge my individual penchant for literary versatility,” said Aberjhani. “I do it partly because readers in our new millennium times have different reading styles, and partly because I’m more comfortable as a writer sharing different stories and ideas through different formats.”

To date, that has meant the publication of an award-winning encyclopedia on the Harlem Renaissance, a critically acclaimed novel, an inspirational profile of celebrated scholar W.E.B. Du Bois, a literary memoir of life in Savannah, Georgia (USA)  and four volumes of poetry. This accomplishment has been chronicled in Dream Reachers, a new book by Betty Dravis and Chase Von in which the authors present interview profiles of more than three dozen “legends and legends in the making.” Included among them is ultimate Hollywood icon Clint Eastwood, influentional political leader Ted Kennedy, singer/actress Kiara Hunter.

In addition to his recognition in Dream Reachers, the author has been a featured writer on a number of websites such as LibraryThing and GoodReads.

Thus far in 2009, Aberjhani has compiled a considerable body of journalism focusing on the changing agendas of civil rights organizations––like the Southern Christian Leadership Conference––adapting to the fact of America’s first African-American president. He has also become a frequent blogger at Red Room.com, a community of writers and readers that boasts such modern-day literary lions as Maya Angelou, Roy Blount,  Lawrence Ferlinghetti, Alice Hoffman, Ishmael Reed, Salman Rushdie, April Sinclair, John Stewart, and President Barack Obama. Since joining the site in February, he has been featured as a Best Blogger of the Week, selected twice as an Editor’s Pick, and showcased as founder of Red Room’s Twenty-first Century Creative Arts Symposium Club.

“Most of my readers online are accustomed to finding my work at either AuthorsDen or Creative Thinkers International, so the Red Room action took a few people by surprise, including me [laughs]. I’m still on AD, and Creative Thinkers International is basically my home site growing more populous every day, but in addition to being one of the most attractive and classy literary web spots around, Red Room developed out of an actual writing school in the San Francisco Bay Area, which kind of stirred my nostalgia for the cultural climate I used to enjoy there years ago. That in turn sparked my creativity to produce some pretty meaningful blogs at a rate I never had before, and thanks to technological wizardry like RSS feeds I’m able to simultaneously post them on Amazon, Blogger, GoodReads, Ning, MSNBC, and Wordpress.”

The rush of creative energy also prompted Aberjhani to begin work on his second novel and a new play, neither of which, the author said, he was ready to discuss at this time. For more, please visit his profile at the following links:
