Jean E. Puiforcat was at the forefront of design of French Art Deco period silver. He began his career in 1920 at the family silversmithing business in Paris. Paris, between the two World Wars, was the center of the art world.... not only for the fine arts, but the decorative arts as well. So, Jean Puiforcat's timing of his entre into the world of decorative arts was fortuitous given his talent for design.
