Graphics Resource Management (GRM) LLC announced today a reality-style competition where sales and marketing competitors have a chance to earn a stake in owning a business. In an unprecedented approach to helping talented professionals get out of the unemployment line, GRM isn’t just offering the top three contenders a chance at a job, but a chance at business ownership.
The competition, called “THE PARTNER,” provides sales and marketing candidates with the chance to show their ability to create a business development plan as well as find and win new business. The top three candidates will be selected from applications submitted by sales and marketing pros interested in earning more than just a paycheck from their efforts. Candidates will be given a small budget and approximately one month to prove their entrepreneurial chops by gaining clients, marketing the business, and showing how they would run sales and marketing if selected the winner. They will also earn commission on all business they gain during the competition. The company’s website, blog and social networks will track the progress of the candidates and competition, allowing the public to comment and root for their favorites. The winning candidate will get a 6-month trial period to prove their performance in the contest is reliable, and if so, they will earn a10% share of ownership in the business and an opportunity to build GRM’s sales and marketing from the ground up.
“We think that the bad economic situation has made it hard for even great people to find good jobs. We want to make it possible for someone with talent and drive not just to get a job, but to become a business owner,” said Tony Maruska, Co-Founder of Graphics Resources Management.
“It’s important for both small businesses and job-seekers to think creatively at times like these. We believe that’s what we’re doing with this competition. If we have a winner in this process, GRM will gain a more secure future because it will get a new owner dedicated to its success and based on a proven track record of talent and execution demonstrated during the competition,”
The candidate selection process runs through July 3, with the top three candidates slated to be selected by July 10. The competition among the top 3 is set to take place July 13 through August 14. Candidates interested in submitting applications for the competition can find details and further information at the company’s website at http://www.graphicsrm.com.
