Nova USA is pleased to announce that it has recently established a new hardwood decking import program featuring Cumaru or Brazilian Teak. Cumaru hardwood is sourced in Brazil, Peru and Bolivia and Nova USA can offer FSC, Forest Stewardship Council, Certified material.
Nova recently completed a comparison of Cumaru with Ipe or Brazilian Walnut. Ipe is by far the most popular tropical hardwood decking used in the United States. Since the 1950's Ipe has been used in both residential and commercial decking projects.
Cumaru is quickly gaining popularity and Nova's Cumaru features kiln drying down to 10-12% moisture content for maximum stability. Lengths run from 8' to 20' in even lengths only with a minimum of 30% 16' and up.
Cumaru is a beautiful golden brown to red brown color and is naturally durable. With strength and hardness properties similar to Ipe, Cumaru is a fantastic choice for decking - and offers a 20-30% savings over Ipe.
Nova has purchasing and export operations in Brazil as well as several warehouse locations with on-the-ground inventory in the U.S. Nova USA is headquartered in Portland, Oregon. Please contact Mr. Steve Getsiv at 503.419.6407 for more information, or visit www.novausawood.com.
