Music & Motion Offers Unique Dance Auditions and Opportunities for Teens

PR Log (Press Release) – Jun 07, 2009 – Music & Motion Dance is now conducting auditions all summer long for its 2010 season, which actually starts in mid-September 2009. Open Auditions are held on Sundays at 2:00 PM  at Conservatory of Music & Dance, 298 Main Street, Harleysville, Pa. (Montgomery County). There are no fees to audition! There are no fees if accepted in to the company, not even for costumes! Everything is covered under private and corporate grants that the company receives each year.

Upcoming audition dates are: June 28; July 19;  August 2, 16 and 23rd. While auditions are open, it is requested that you reserve a spot on the schedule by filling out a quick form on line at http://www.music-and-motion.com/auditions.html

Applicants should be between the ages of 14-22 years and have had some formal dance training. While the company is best described as modern or contemporary, all styles of dance are accepted. All members of the company are expected to contribute to choreography, show production and development of this group as a whole.

Founded in 2000, under the artistic direction of Steven Weisz, Music & Motion is a fresh, innovative, performance-oriented, youth dance company. Rather than relying on a single dance style or technique, Music & Motion has developed its own unique movement for each new dance work created. The variety of ecletic styles incorporated into its programs include ballet, jazz, tap, lyrical, modern, funk, hip hop and acrobatic styles.

Music & Motion Dance has performed throughout the tri-state area and even internationally to a range of audiences in its short yet diverse history. With a deep commitment to group collaboration and exposing new audiences to dance and the performing arts, the company has won both critical acclaim as well as many new fans.

Music & Motion's mission is to empower youth through dance, movement and the performing arts, ultimately building self-esteem and inspiring creative self-expression and community action and interaction.

As a company, we seek to bring dancer and audience closer together by performing in both traditional and non-traditional venues, having meaningful dialogues and discourse about our dance works, offering free or subsidized programs to venues and generally making dance more accessible to the public.
