Once we realized our son was suffering from lead poisoning, we diligently researched potential sources of exposure and minimized those to aid in his recovery,” states bluedominoes Co-Founder Debbie Lindgren.  “According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, about 1 in 22 children have high levels of lead in their blood, and we wanted to provide a resource for parents to turn to as well as safe lead-free products.”

The need for what would become the company’s initial product became clear after Debbie’s younger son had a reaction to the modeling product being used in his school.  Art supply products are not required to publish MSDS or provide an ingredient list.  Therefore it was unclear whether the product was allowed to contain small amounts of lead.
