Manila, Philippines -- Brian Poturnak, successful businessman and entrepreneur currently residing in the Philippines, has recently announced his support for tourism and travel-related investing on the islands. With a recently passed law providing incentives for new investments in tourism projects, Poturnak says the Philippines is positioned to become a top-tier travel destination in the very near future.
Signed into law last month by President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo, the National Tourism Policy Act of 2009 (Republic Act 9593) is intended to boost the country’s tourism industry, while at the same time, spurring economic growth.
“Travel and tourism in the Philippines is going to be a driving force in the country’s economic recovery,” says Brian Poturnak, Canadian-born resident of Makati who has called the Philippines home for the past fifteen years.
“I encourage others to take advantage of the incentives provided within the recently-passed legislation,”
Expected to be fully implemented by the end of the year, Republic Act 9593 also gives the Department of Tourism broader policy support and an expanded budgetary support system.
