A Boxed Event, a subsidiary of The Thrower Group- A boutique consultancy specializing in new wave marketing & viral tactics incorporated into events along with Caribbay Soul is hosting Wilmington’s 1st Pink Slip Party. The event will provide a unique opportunity for job seekers to network with local recruiters and their peers, as well as learning about the resources available in the Wilmington area to aid in their job search. We are devoted to helping those who are looking for work develop professional relationships and give them the necessary skills to successfully job hunt in these challenging times.
WHAT IS A PINK SLIP PARTY?
It’s a tradition that has evolved from 1910, when hundreds of unemployed workers gathered to commiserate being layed off, factories closing and the country being in a state of flux. Recently, with the meltdown on Wall Street, the crisis in the auto industry, as well as foreclosures running rampant as more workers lose their jobs, Pink Slip Parties are cropping up all around the country.

HOW DOES IT WORK?
Jobseekers can RSVP with us in advance. If they don’t they show up with tons of resumes, enjoy some good food and buy themselves a drink, and seek out recruiters and hiring managers in a relaxed environment. When you register at the door, you will receive a color-coded bracelet that will identify you as a jobseeker or recruiter, so that you can network with the people that matter to you.
How much does it Cost?
A $10 donation to The O Foundation will be collected at the door from jobseekers, all going to a great cause. Complimentary Appetizers will be made available. Recruiters from throughout the Wilmington area are invited to attend and are welcomed. Hurry...space is limited and this event will sell out! Sorry, no walk-ins.
