Students in Atlantic Christian School’s Digital Publishing Class got a glimpse of the publishing world when they recently toured the area’s largest printer, Print Art, Inc. The students, in grades 9-12 at the Egg Harbor Township private school, were able to see first-hand how printed pieces went from conception to completion.
“We see printed materials everywhere but not a lot of people are aware of the professional skills needed to produce them,” said Carole Karabashian of Ventnor, the class instructor. “Our students have been working to create their own pieces and had a real appreciation for the state-of-the art equipment and processes that they saw at Print Art, Inc.”
“We’re always pleased to open our doors to groups in the community,” said Carl Blase, CEO, Print Art, Inc. He personally met with the students to give them an overview of the company. “We were able to lay out the operation exactly as we wanted to, so that jobs flowed from one section to the next in a line. It has made such a difference in our efficiency and output. We were always considered a mid-size printer, but now with the new presses, we’re in a whole different league.”
“Printing is a wonderful combination of all that the students have been learning throughout their educational experience,”
