MC Russia reports the EU-Russia summit

MC’s TV team compiled digital footage of the roundtable, press conference and the unofficial dinner in honour of leading politicians from Russia’s and the EU.

The two-day summit was headed by Russian President Dmitry Medvedev. The EU was represented by the Commission’s President José Manuel Barroso, the Secretary-General of the Council of the EU Javier Solana as well as Czech President Václav Klaus. The summit’s aim was to resolve divergences  relating to energy policies, security issues and trade.

An agreement between the European Commission’s Directorate-General Communication (DG Comm) and MC Russia came into effect in 2006, wherby MC Russia was chosen to produce audiovisual material for television. It’s remit is to report on events organised by European institutions as well as on European activities considered relevant to the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS).
