Ngu Hanh Son Accelerates Tourist Attraction of Danang City - Vietnam

June 4, 2009 - PRLog -- It can be said that in recent years, Danang’s tourism has made rapid leaps thanks to investments in development and acceleration of activities to promote tourism at key markets. One of Danang’s famous places, Ngu Hanh Son, has attracted great attention of tourists. Vietnam Business Forum’s journalist has an interview with Ms Tran Thi Man, Deputy Head of Ngu Hanh Son’s Management Board on missions to promote, invest and attract tourists in 2009.

Danang City in general and Ngu Hanh Son in particular have had lots of activities to promote their tourism recently. Please kindly tell us the influence of such activities?
In 2009, the Department of Tourism and the Tourism Promotion Center have implemented lots of effective tourism promotional activities in order to popularize tourism for the whole city, including Ngu Hanh Son. Ngu Hanh Son is a land of spirit and Buddhism. Therefore, though other tourist spots suffer from the global economic crisis, Ngu Hanh Son tourist spot still witnesses a growth of over 10 percent against the same period last year. We hope that this year, Ngu Hanh Son will still be an appealing destination for tourists who are interested in visiting beauty of nature, mysterious caves, ancient pagodas and who are nostalgic.

So, in 2009, what plans does the Management Board have to attract tourists?
As an unit which is responsible for exploiting and managing Ngu Hanh Son beauty spot complex, we continue to well implement the management task of mountain groups, exploitation of services and advertisement for the place’s tourism. For instance, we put pictures at big hotels in the city, at the airport or participate in advertising programmes of the city to attract more domestic visitors to make up for foreign tourists. Through road shows of Danang City in Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi, we are hopeful that more and more tourists will come to Ngu Hanh Son.

How is Ngu Hanh Son invested in?
Ngu Hanh Son beauty spot is entitled to lots of investment. For example, we have recently got a road to Thuong Thai built, got telescopes installed there to serve visitors to enjoy Cu Lao Cham’s scenery and other neighbouring areas, etc. Currently, the city also has a policy to develop Ngu Hanh Son spiritual cultural park to further develop Ngu Hanh Son beauty spot complex.

How do you assess the importance of developing spiritual tourism?
The better the material life is, the more attention is paid to the spiritual life. As such, spiritual tourism gets more and more interested in. Currently, lots of artificial tourist areas are constructed, but they seem to lack a soul. Ngu Hanh Son is favoured by the nature. Its complex is very nice and its scenery is mysterious. We, therefore, step up exploiting this area in order to attract domestic visitors.

Which products are symbols of Ngu Hanh Son?
Fine-art stone products are now famous not only within the country but also in other countries across the world. Products of the traditional trade village are easily recognized for their diversity and sophistication. Tourists coming to the trade village can buy lots of products with specific characteristics like statues of saints of happiness, wealth and longevity, stone mortar and pestle, or statue of Di Lac Buddha, etc.
