LITTLE ROCK, Arkansas - The EAST Initiative (www.EASTinitiative.org)
announced today that it has successfully registered EAST® as a trademark for its innovative educational model that engages students in sophisticated service-learning projects that involve relevant teamwork and cutting-edge technology.
“This is an important development for the EAST program,” said Matt Dozier, President and Chief Executive Officer. “I am so proud to have all the good work EAST has been doing across the nation has been recognized in this way by the U.S. Patent and Trademark office.”
The EAST program is providing more than 13,000 Arkansas students in more than 170 schools with real-world experience through the management and resolution of real-world problems. EAST was founded 13 years ago in Greenbrier, Arkansas. The organization’
s name is now registered under the category of educational technology.
