PRLog (Press Release) - Jun. 4, 2009 - Events of all shapes have been folded into Southern Ocean County Chamber of Commerce Art & Leisure Weekend, beginning with a prix fixe preview taking place at a variety of local restaurants starting Wednesday June 10 and running through Friday June 12. Art inspired menus such as a fondue for two with imported chocolate ganache and courses of fruit, cake, marshmallows and pretzels at Café Bacio. Sea Oaks Country Club in Little Egg has created a Food is Art concept menu including courses that reflect famous artists such as Da Vinci, Matisse and Picasso. Other participating Chamber Members include: Panzones, Beach Haven *The Black Whale Bar & Fish House, Beach Haven*217 East Main, Tuckerton, Daddy O, Brant Beach The Plantation, Harvey Cedars*The Beach House Restaurant, Beach Haven Terrace (Friday night only)*Bistro 14 Bay Village, Beach Haven (Friday night only). Each restaurant will have an Art & Leisure Preview card for patrons, which lists weekend events, as well as a $4.00 coupon off a Surflight Theatre Main Stage Production, which includes the musical happening during the Art & Leisure weekend, Gershwin’s Classic “Lady Be Good” will be performing through June 14, call box office at 609 492-9477 for ticket information.

The focus for many will be taking place June 13-14 from 10am to 5pm at Ethel Jacobsen Field, in Ship Bottom. The Jersey Shore Fine Arts Festival, hosted by the Southern Ocean County Chamber of Commerce, brings over 100 local and nationally recognized artists to LBI for this open air art market. The promoter of this event, Paragon Art Events, is the producer of the prestigious Cape Cod, East Hampton and Montauk Art Festivals, promises something for everyone during this free two day show.

The chamber has also collaborated with member organizations to promote the Eco Tour/Treasure Hunt June 13. This self guided event, starts in Loveladies at the LBI Foundation of the Arts and Sciences and promises a fun afternoon for young and old kids. Find giant clams, museums, see baby oyster growing, tour a working seaport in Barnegat Light. An evening of live local jazz, fresh seafood prepared by local restaurants, cash bar, plus free movie night under the stars at dockside.To benefit Southern Regional High School Scholarship Fund.
