Congratulations to our new Miss Teen Oregon-World 2009

June 4, 2009 - PRLog -- Jamie France of Redmond, Oregon is our new Miss Teen Utah-Oregon 2009. She will be competing in the upcoming Miss Teen United States-World Pageant July 6-10 in Houston, Texas with girls from all over the United States.

Jamie is from Redmond, Oregon and is a senior at Redmond High School. Some of her hobbies and talents include, reading, writing, school, hiking, camping, running, riding bikes, hanging out with friends, and working. She believes strongly in fighting animal abuse. This is important to Jamie she says, because she is a big time animal lover and she has 2 dogs of her own. Jamie states, "It makes me so sad and disgusted to see people abuse or starve their animals. There is always a good home out there for them. Malnutrition is such a bad thing that can be prevented and I would love to help do anything that I can."

Some of Jamie's community involvement includes; Outdoor school counselor, charity fund raising, Christmas presents for the Bethlehem Inn, American Red Cross donations, tutoring, trash pick-up, and road cleanup. She is also the Honor Society Community Service Coordinator at her school where she plans community service events for others to help out with as well.

Jamie shares that she would like to become Miss Teen United States-World because ever since she was a little girl she has loved watching national pageants. She feels to actually be a part of an experience like that would be the best thing that has ever happened to her. She also says, "It looks like so much fun, and meeting all the girls would be an amazing experience."

We asked Jamie what one thing she would like us to know about her. She shared this caring statement. "I am a People to People student Ambassador and I traveled to Greece, Italy and France last summer and got to do community service over seas. We worked at an endangered tortoise refugee and got to see all the hurt animals which is one main reason I care so much about them. I was in Europe for about a month and it was such an amazing experience."

We're proud of Jamie as our Miss Teen Oregon-World 2009, and wish her all the luck at the Miss Teen United States-World Pageant in Houston, Texas, July 6-10.
