The townships of Ceduna and Port Augusta, South Australia, have recently seen a massive reduction in the financial and social costs of graffiti, vandalism, public drinking, and anti-social behaviour.
Since the introduction of an innovative program by South Australian Special Operations Group (SASOG), supported by Von Forell Australia, the approximately $30.000 per month that council had been spending to repair damage and graffiti has been reduced to approximately $400 dollars per month.
Highly professional, highly trained man and dog teams have been employed in both Ceduna and Port Augusta in an effort to reduce crime and its associated cost. These teams patrol high-incident areas with mobile units, and make a presence felt to anybody with criminal ideas in mind.

Both Ceduna and Port Augusta have experienced a huge boom in liveability and resident satisfaction, with lifestyle satisfaction in Ceduna reaching over 100% in the most recent survey by council. In Port Augusta, after only a four month period of these SASOG patrols, crime is at an all time low, and drinking in the towns’ dry zones has been reduced to almost nil.
