Mission Grounds and Horseshoe Bend Country Club are collaborating on a major tennis charity event – The Bash at the Bend, to be held August 14th through 16th, 2009. The event will host several great tennis exhibitions featuring, among others, former #1 player in the world - Mats Wilander and former Georgia Bulldog and French Open finalist, Mikael Pernfors, along side an array of area professionals and other celebrities.
This three day event also gives you the opportunity to play with these great players or with several local top notch teaching professionals. Bring your partner or your team and play some great doubles with the Area’s best. Our goal is to have you playing with these great players, not just watching them. Play a set, take a clinic or take a playing lesson. There will be several skills contests, including for fastest serve. Friday night will feature a silent auction and wine-tasting. On Saturday the 15th, we'll have clinics all day until the evening Doubles-Exhibition Match. Sunday morning will feature a Celebrity Golf Scramble with the event-sponsors on the Horseshoe Bend golf course. Sunday at 3pm is set aside for the main exhibition singles-match between Wilander and Pernfors.
