Geneva Vet Spotlights Needs of Pebbles Boyle, Susan’s Cat

Britain’s Got Talent 2009 says goodbye to Susan Boyle, while focus shifts to Susan’s subsequent career and to the continuing nutritional needs of her cat, Pebbles.

June 3, 2009 - PRLog -- Mies, Switzerland – Mouths across the world dropped as Susan Boyle throated notes that blatantly countered her humble physical appearance on Britain’s Got Talent.  Probes into her personal life revealed an unassuming and solitary existence, save one live-in companion…a faceless ten-year-old housecat named Pebbles.

Pebbles doesn’t know about Miss Boyle’s newfound celebrity status.  The cat is simply wondering when Susan will return to the armchair that they once shared.  Kindhearted Scottish neighbors have generously volunteered to clean up after and feed Pebbles, but no food or care could be as good as that delivered by the hand of Susan.

All of this raises the question:  What exactly does Pebbles eat?  Boyled meat from a can?  Scraps from the neighbors’ fridges and lazy susans?  Pebbles from a bag?

Regardless of the cat’s diet, Dr. Nortey Omaboe of Cabinet Veterinaire International has a few words of advice for Susan, the returning star.

Dr. Omaboe points out that, like all domestic pets, cats cannot thrive on table scraps.  And likewise, commercially produced cat foods are not all created equally, and their ingredients are not always decodable…even by a veterinarian trained in animal nutrition.

A quality cat food supplied by a veterinarian, or a cat diet tailored by a veterinarian trained in veterinary nutrition, is a must.

Dr. Omaboe says, “Following a blood work analysis, a veterinarian trained in cat nutrition can prescribe a feeding plan, complete with supplements, to improve and extend the life of most any pet cat.”  He also points out that he’s witnessed improvement in ailments involving chronic skin, genital, ear, and other health problems, through the use of prescribed organic nutritional supplements.

You’d be hard pressed to find animal hospitals that offer specialized cat diets in Europe, besides those operated by Cabinet Veterinaire International.  For ten years, Dr. Omaboe has been tackling cat health problems and prolonging the lives of healthy cats through proper diet.

The doctor’s own love affair with animals began at a young age, when on holiday in Sicily.  There, he stumbled upon a litter of kittens, some of which were ill.  One was suffering from a serious eye infection.  He presented them to a veterinarian for medication, and then and nursed them back to health on his own.

The future doctor had hoped to house the kittens inside his host family’s home.  However, the host refused, fearing the stain that sick cats might place on his in-house cheese business’ reputation.  Nortey vowed from that point that he would dedicate his life to treating animals with the same care that is afforded to humans.  He has recently hurdled his twenty-fifth year in veterinary medicine and surgery, and has kept his promises to kittens, cats, and hosts of others.

No matter the level of care that Pebbles has enjoyed, his life can only be improved through the feeding of a diet designed to his unique needs.  No commercial cat food can claim completeness, nor can any over-the-counter supplement.  Only a veterinarian trained in nutrition can help Susan to offer the best to her best friend…no matter where her future takes the two of them.
