Agora Gallery is pleased to present The French Perspective, an exhilarating survey of contemporary art from France. There is a remarkable variety of styles represented in this exhibition, truly profound works that delve into humanity’s deepest creative roots. Some of these talented artists are tremendous painters and sculptors while others explore experimental techniques and new media. Art lovers will undoubtedly be enamored by this selection of works from our neighbors across the Atlantic.
Born out of a necessity to communicate complex thoughts and emotions, Musika's stylistically simple, but ideologically rich acrylics on canvas transform into meditative environments of deep contemplation. Here, in silence, in the immersive environment of fluid color and horizontal repetition, viewers surrender themselves completely to their emotions. Without a sound, Musika's meditative and calming abstract canvases adorned with horizontal washes of color, entrance the viewer with a harmony of hue. Recalling the spiritually infused works of abstract expressionist color field painters Barnett Newman and Mark Rothko, Musika's deeply resonating canvases, with their awe inspiring color and human scale, portray the elements of the sublime with an impressive sophistication. Each of the artist's paintings contains a delicate balance, her fluid surfaces displaying a dual sense of flatness and depth and this tension across the boundless canvases makes them all the more intriguing. A self-taught artist, Musika lives, works, and exhibits in France and abroad.
