Kamal aBeach Clean Day On 28 May'09
Andara mobilized a hundred of its volunteers in corporation with local communities and other hotels in Kamala, in order to clean up a two kilometer stretch of Kamala Beach.
The management and staff of the Andara Resort Villas helped collect garbage including plastic, paper, packaging material and bottles covering the massive beach areas and surrounding areas along Kamala.
The General Manager of Andara Resort Villas, Mr. Klaus R. Rauter along with his resort staff displayed true team spirit, supporting the community outreach effort called “Keeping Phuket Clean, Keeping Kamala Clean", the latest initiative launched by Summer in Phuket Campaign.
"Cleaning the beach is a great way to take care of our beautiful environment;
“We are pleased to see such fantastic participation from our staff and the local communities in Kamala” Klaus added.
Regular beach clean-ups have also been organized to clean the beach on a daily basis in order to establish a long term solution. A committee has also been formed with hotels, restaurants and local communities in Kamala Beach.

The latest initiative launched by the Summer in Phuket campaign is a community outreach effort called Keeping Phuket Clean, designed to help keep the beaches of Phuket sparkling clean over Summer Season – May through November – and to help create an ongoing working model so beach communities can accomplish this task year round. The program officially launches with over 20 locations throughout the island.
