This is the day that General Emilio Aguinaldo proclaimed the independence of the Philippines from Spain in 1898. It was also the day when the Philippine National flag made by Marcela Agoncillo, Lorenza Agoncillo and Delfina Herbosa de Natividad was unfurled in Kawit, Cavite.
