FREEHOLD, New Jersey - Michael van der Heijden, a Senior Vice President at Woodard & Curran, was named a trustee of the board for the Licensed Site Remediation Professional (LSRP) Association in New Jersey. The association was created after the signing of the Site Remediation Reform Act was signed by Governor Corzine on May 7, 2009.
The New Jersey Site Remediation Reform Act will enable qualified professionals to authorize the continuation of site cleanup and drastically increase the number of contaminated sites which are remediated annually. The LSRP Association will support the professional development of its members through education, information sharing, networking, and other efforts to improve and maintain professional skills.
Van der Heijden participated in several meetings with the NJ Consultant Coalition regarding draft S 1897 and proposed key changes, becoming an important player in the passing of the bill. Van der Heijden has 17 years of experience in environmental planning, science, and engineering, specializing in corporate environmental performance and competitive analysis assessments. He has provided environmental management consulting services to industry on such issues as strategic planning for corporate acquisitions/
