The south has many faces, from the historic streets of Charleston to the Art Deco district in Miami. It is part antebellum and part post-modern, a region that can go from swamp to sand to city in the blink of an eye.
In our current episode of Excursions, we travel from quirky Key West to the casinos of Biloxi and discover that the spirit of the south is alive in both large resorts and mom-and-pop hotels; in beach-side dives and five-star restaurants.
“This is going to be one of my favorite episodes yet,” says associate producer Chris Willis. “The south has so much to offer, from the antebellum architecture to the theme parks. The difficult part is going to be narrowing it down.”
Our camera crews are currently out filming for this exciting episode, visiting interesting locations and speaking with fascinating people.
We’ve visited the home of Tobasco in Louisiana, splashed through water parks in Florida’s Panhandle and been cruising with Disney; we’ve played golf, tanned on the beach and gotten cozy in bed and breakfasts.
Our next stop? It might be in your backyard, so keep an eye out for Excursions!
