Expansion of Online Chocolate Resource

June 2, 2009 - PRLog -- Chocolate University Online has expanded its website, offering free chocolate information and a blog for various chocolate topics.  

Chocolate University Online, which opened its virtual doors on November 1, 2008, is dedicated to teaching chocolate lovers more about their favorite food.  The curriculum covers everything about chocolate with fun, weekly lessons designed to help the student taste and understand chocolate.  Each of the first 12 weeks involves tasting different types of chocolate.  The students develop their own understanding of the complex flavors of chocolate and even run a personal chocolate “tournament” to determine their favorite chocolate.  This comprehensive experience can put the chocolate lover on a chocolate pedestal, elevated to expert status in the eyes of their friends and family.

Each week, for 40 weeks, students receive one lesson, delivered via email.  Each “bite-sized” lesson is quick and easy to read, packed with information that is easy to digest.  Every lesson introduces new material, defines chocolate terminology, and provides a recipe or two.  Most lessons also have a “chocolate laboratory” to introduce experiments and tastings, and an assignment that helps the student put new knowledge into practice.

Bryn Kirk, who refers to herself as the “Primal Chocolate Therapist,” is the course facilitator.  She is a veteran of the chocolate industry having worked for nearly 10 years at Ambrosia Chocolate in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.  While at Ambrosia (owned by W.R. Grace and then ADM) Bryn worked in research and development producing new chocolate formulas.  She was also trained to run the chocolate taste test panels for the new products they developed.
