"We are very proud of the decisions that we and FreeGreen have made through this process such as being the first home in New England to use FSC Clear (CVG) Cedar Siding from F.D. Sterrit Lumber, the selection of LED Energy Star Lighting from Wolfers Lighting, and energy efficient spray foam insulation from Icynene and Healthy Homes Inc. We hope that sharing our experiences of building a green home and educating FreeGreen's users on the use of green home products will help promote more sustainable building.
This showcase home will be the first of its kind, to combine such as well documented user experience and a ree houseplan for any one to download. David Wax, CEO of FreeGreen states, "We have all seen books about green home design, read blogs discussing green houses, and purchased house plans, but we wanted to do more. With the help of the Glazer'sm we have been able to provide our users with the unique experience, of following and being involved with the difficult decisions and complex calculations that are involved with making a healthy energy efficient home. This showcase project is now the first in a new line of efforts that FreeGreen will be taking on, creating a library of well documented actual green home builds, and free green house plans for all to learn from and implement in their own way."
