June 1, 2009 - PRLog -- At the DVD Show (International Exhibition Defence Equipment and Support's Millbrook, United Kingdom 24 - 25 June 2009), Stack will display products designed and built with the defence industry in mind.

Stack is a leading supplier world-leading supplier of instrumentation, data acquisition and rugged solid-state video systems to motorsport and automotive customers worldwide. With over 25 years of proven experience and service, Stack offers ruggedised products directed towards defence needs that can operate at high levels of performance and reliability in the most challenging environments.

Stack DVRs feature a rugged machined aluminium housing specifically designed and manufactured to protect the unit in harsh and extreme environments. The unit is compact and durable with no moving parts (other than the sealed CF card access door), and is capable of operating where normal VCRs or DV recorders are not. Recording in harsh environments, such as continual shock and vibration, and extreme climate conditions is now entirely possible, making it ideal for all demanding recording applications. Its anti-vibration and shock-resistant abilities are perfect for consideration as commercial off the shelf (COTS) equipment. Stack DVR's have been successfully used in many demanding applications such as land-based military vehicles, aerospace, marine and many more.

Stack will be featuring its world-class data-logging systems. Renowned in Motorsport, the systems offer the highest specification and flexibility.

The Multi-Function Recorder (MFR) is housed inside a rugged and sealed enclosure, designed and manufactured to protect the unit in harsh operating conditions. Sealed to IP67 with an operating temperature range of -20C to +80C (-5F to +175F), and able to withstand up to 20g continuous vibration, the unit is compact and durable with no moving internal parts, making it capable of operating where other dataloggers
cannot.

The Data-Logger can record from its own 15 sensor inputs, and optionally can be expanded up to a total of 128 channels from CANbus, GPS, and other sensor input modules. Recorded Data is downloaded to a PC via USB.

Stack will also be displaying its ground-breaking Battery-less Tyre Pressure and Temperature Monitoring System (TPMS). Based on patented SAW sensor technology, the problems associated with mounting batteries and complicated electronics in sensors on wheels have at last been completely eliminated - completely redefining TPMS!

“It can operate at temperatures up to 150 degrees C, with update rates from 1 Hz up to 40 Hz,” said Alan Rock, Managing Director, Stack Ltd. The Stack SAW sensor is smaller and lighter, too: Smaller than a 15mm cube and weighing less than 10 grams, it can be mounted on the back of a valve stem.
