The Ron Clark Academy (RCA) students performed "SPOTLIGHT" this weekend in Atlanta, GA at the 14th Street Playhouse. I thought I was on Broadway in New York City. The students executed several skits that were filled with education, energy, creativity, history, humor, originality and excellent showmanship.
The story started out with two of the RCA students portraying to be grandkids to an eighty year old grandmother, who was also a student. The two students were sharing with their grandmother the wonderful experience they have gone through being a full time student of the Academy. Remember, these are the same kids who are known for singing singing "Dear Obama", and "You Can Vote However You Like," for the President, at the Inauguration and on CNN. The White House has not seen anything yet!
"SPOTLIGHT" skits focused from politics to the incredible moment of singing in front of President Obama to a beautiful praise dance and more. The RCA students educated the audience about their proud heritage. They paid tribute to the Sororities and Fraternities, who they highly respect for their dedication to the community. From an expressive live mic poet moment to soulful sounds, their voices filled the room! Songstresses, blues singers, musicians and all types of personalities that inspired and shined. These students belong in the Fox Theater.
Member of the audience were on the edge of our seats the entire time watching and waiting for what was next. I have never seen anything like this before. We needed a camera crew there from all networks filming these angels. This was one of the best ways to spend my weekend with our future global leaders. The kids are ingenious, articulate, and confident!!
Ron Clark and his staff have done an astonishing job in showcasing the voices of these 70 kids in such a dazzling way. The RCA kids have a special appreciation for their teachers. You need more here. www.ronclarkacademy.com
