Follow on Google News | Hilary Gushwa, Miss California International 2009 will be the Guest Speaker at Moorpark Rotary ClubOn Friday, June 5th, 2009, at 7:00 a.m., the Moorpark Morning Rotary Club will be hosting Hilary Gushwa. The meeting is at the Grinder Restaurant in Moorpark, CA at 1 W. Los Angeles Avenue. The cost for the program is $12 which includes breakfast.
By: Moorpark Morning Rotary In 1999 she founded Heart2Heart in the city of Moorpark as a way to help leukemia and other blood-related cancer patients. Over the past ten years Heart2Heart has raised over $75,000 for this cause. As a result of drives funded and held by Heart2Heart, four patients have found matching donors are now in remission. Hilary Gushwa has won numerous awards for Heart2Heart, and the countless hours she's dedicated to the community. These awards include: President Bush's "Call to Service Award", Phenomenal Women Inc.'s "Phenomenal Woman Award", Chamber of Commerce Volunteer of the Year, and most recently was nominated for L'Oreal Paris' "Women of Worth Award".
