May 30, 2009 - PRLog -- The need to retain essential workers and cut recruitment costs has encouraged Bounty.Com, the UK’s biggest parenting club, to extend its teleworking using Henley Garden Offices.

With operations established at Welwyn Garden City, Bounty planned to transfer its editorial team 85 miles.  However, key individuals in the group were not keen to relocate.

Stephen Taylor HR Director of Bounty said “Not only would new staff be more costly, but the business would have lost the detailed knowledge of an existing team
Broadband allows staff to telework with a degree of success, but we needed a flexible working solution and improved work life balance for the team.”

Bounty choose Henley’s ‘Compact Mini’ – a one person office with a workspace of 4.4 sq metres.  Suitable for all year use and available in a choice of colours. Costing around £5,300 each, including electrics, lighting and installation.  They can be built directly onto a dry level surface, with special desking and storage options.

“We selected Henley Offices for several reasons, says Stephen Taylor. “Price was a critical issue, so too was the choice and attractiveness of their range. Staff have to give up some of their garden for a workspace, so the building should appeal to everyone on an aesthetic level. We also knew the company by reputation with 1000’s of satisfied customers around the UK”

Whilst the Offices belong to Bounty and they can be moved by Henley should staff leave, Stephen Taylor  believes that Bounty would eventually gift the building to the employee. “Henley showed us their buildings can add over 4% to the value of a property, something that makes them a better asset for the staff than Bounty. After all, we’ve already covered the purchase price through cost savings.”

‘Indeed the combined cost of a Henley is less than the recruitment costs of replacing valued employees, so Henley Garden Offices paid for themselves immediately.

Having evaluated the staff performance, Stephen Taylor is enthusiastic: “Clearly the work life balance for staff is better and productivity has improved, encouraging us to allow more of our employees to telework from home”
