The CD presents all songs of the concert performed in August 2008 in Cologne, which was a world-premiere:
The name of this person is Chris Huelsbeck, whose game soundtrack classics like "Giana Sisters", "R-Type" or "Turrican" went through a style change which couldn't be more extreme: A handful of tiny 8-bit samples or synthetic sine waves became violins, contrabasses, flutes, clarinettes, horns, trumpets and grand piano. Envelope controlled noise became drums, timpani, cymbals, triangles ... even pottery mugs.
The songs were rearranged for orchestra and choir by demoscene legend Jonne Valtonen (ex Purple Motion / Future Crew). They were performed by the musicians of the WDR Radio Orchestra Cologne and the FILMharmonic Choir Prague, conducted by Grammy-winning artist Arnold Roth.
With its transparent standard-tray the new edition is lower priced (17.95 instead of 22.00 Euro) than the first edition. All other details incl. CD content and the extensive booklet with interview, photos and artwork are identical.
