A Walton man pleaded guilty Wednesday to one count of tax evasion, admitting in U.S. District Court in Binghamton that he owes the Internal Revenue Service $435,000 in unpaid income taxes from 1996 to 2007.

Arthur W. Marron, 62, told Senior U.S. District Court Judge Thomas J. McAvoy that he and his wife hadn’t filed an income tax return since 1995.The charges came after the IRS’ Criminal Investigation Division began looking into Marron’s finances.

Marron faces up to five years in prison and up to $250,000 in fines.
