Cindy Ziegler, RN, nurse supervisor, Carle Clinic - Urbana on Windsor
URBANA, IL – Cindy Ziegler, RN, nurse supervisor at Carle Clinic – Urbana on Windsor, was recipient of the Clinical Nurse Excellence Award presented to nominees on May 12.
Established in 2006, this award recognizes nurses whose practice and commitment to the profession have been characterized by consistent excellence. It is bestowed by the Carle Clinic Clinical Excellence Committee and the Carle Foundation Hospital Auxiliary to Carle Clinic nurses nominated by their peers.
Ziegler, a nurse for 25 years – 18 of those with Carle Clinic – was lauded by her coworkers as someone who supervises with a caring but firm hand and generously assists others. She remains dedicated to the patient’s needs; on one occasion, she delivered a glucose monitor to a patient at home who had no other way to get it. Ziegler also serves as a mentor and volunteer at an alternative high school and a member of four nurse councils. She is married with two children.
