Jiji Tu, Managing Director of MSS Recruitment, said after the recent Labor Law Seminar her company held for the Retail Trade in Macau, "we were delighted with the response as over 60 retailers participated and we intend in the future to focus on bringing more to this industry sector. We see Retail, which is a relatively new phenomenon and experience in Macau, as being an industry which will over the next 5-10 years see enormous growth." Macau, which
only had one international Department store, has seen a plethora of brand names from all over the world deciding to position themselves right where millions come to spend their leisure time for entertainment and shopping.

Something that was denied the local population until very recently. Ms. Tu said "With the emergence of the Greater Pearl River Delta region being a powerhouse and China's positioning for it to be fast-tracked to 2010, we see the income levels of many households within the PRD region burgeoning and with that will come more disposable income which will be spent on retail, both top end luxury and

The Macau New Labour Law took effect from lst January 2009. The Seminar was presented by a directly elected Legislator of the Macau Legislative Assembly, Mr. Jose Coutinho. He was one of the lawmakers responsible for drafting the new law. He is also the President of
Macao Civil Servant's Association, being fluent in many languages, Cantonese, Mandarin, English and Portuguese. "The law will assist the people of Macau in its upgrade of Human Resources industry; there had previously been an outdated law in place, so overall this bodes well and I am delighted to be invited to be a presenter for MSSR", said Mr. Coutinho when asked specifically on the law.
