It was a double-sweet meeting for Secretary-Treasurer Kanes Pantayatiwong at the May 28 meeting of the Chino Creek Toastmasters Club. Pantayatiwong received the Outstanding Member Award, an annual honor for members who have gone "above and beyond" in providing service to the club. He also won the best speaker of the day award for his presentation entitled "Sweet Success", which explained the history of Hershey Chocolates and the town of Hershey, Pennsylvania.
In presenting the award, Area E2 Governor Kathleen Moon, of Pink Jungle Seminars, complemented Pantayatiwong, saying he was a "shining light" for other Toastmasters.
In nominating Pantayatiwong, Club President Robert Wallin, of Inland Empire Utilities Agency (IEUA), said "I owe him a debt of gratitude for his dedication, and also for his partnership on Club issues during my time as President. Mr. Pantayatiwong is always present at Club meetings and officer's meetings, enthusiastically contributing to every session. His constructive approach inspires other members, and adds to the positive outlook that is part of the Club's culture. His informal duties, performed beyond his double office, include Club photographer, Club technical assistant, web site content contributor, and social coordinator."
Other awards presented at this meeting included Best Evaluator to Ting Chen and Best Table Topics to Leo Sopicki, both of IEUA.
The Chino Creek Toastmasters is open to the public and meets every Thursday at noon in the headquarters of the Inland Empire Utilities Agency, 6075 Kimball Ave. in Chino. More information about Toastmasters is available by calling club President Robert Wallin at 909-993-1491.
