JobCircle to host their first Pink Slip Party in Southern New Jersey

West Chester, PA – The unemployed in Southern New Jersey will soon have a new way to find their next job. JobCircle.com, the mid-Atlantic’s largest regional job board, is bringing their 2009 series of Pink Slip Parties to Cherry Hill in June. JobCircle, who originally hosted these parties back in 2001, recently revived the idea due to the slumping economy.

The Pink Slip Party combines a job fair, networking event and happy hour into one neatly packaged function that occurs during the evening hours at a local bar or restaurant. Jobseekers who have been “pink slipped” or are worried about their job security will be able to network with HR professionals from several hiring companies. These events will provide a new lifeline for discouraged jobseekers that have not been able to secure a job in the recent months.  

The event is planned for Tuesday, June 9th from 5 to 8pm at P.J. Whelihan’s Pub in Cherry Hill, NJ.  The cover charge for the event is $10 for jobseekers who register at http://www.jobcircle.com/pinkslip by June 4th.

“Jobseekers are having a difficult time finding a job in this market. The Pink Slip Parties are another way to help them make new contacts and find jobs that they may have not known about,” said Marisa Cogan, VP of Marketing for JobCircle. “Sending a resume is just not enough right now.
