Touched By The Loss Of Their Classmate, Students Write Remembering “D”

May 26, 2009 - PRLog -- The resounding theme throughout Remembering “D”, which was beautifully written and illustrated by Demetrius’ former classmates, The “D” Team at The Montessori School at Holy Rosary, and his teacher, Anna Discenzo, is the boy’s cheerful disposition and his love of everyone and everything. The book is brimming with photographs of Demetruis’ warm and contagious grin and it quickly becomes apparent while leafing through the pages of this book that Demetrius had a profound love of God and a gift for making people feel special. So brave and devoted to his faith was Demetrius that he even told his family and friends he wasn’t afraid to die because he was going to be with the Good Shepherd. The many qualities that made Demetrius special were chosen to create the story of his life and how he impacted others.  

Due in part to their grief at the loss of this extraordinary child, the Holy Rosary school community felt compelled to share his story with the world and, through the creation of Remembering “D”, was successful in bringing all of Demetrius’ special qualities back to life.  God’s love so permeated this child that to know and remember “D”, is to know God’s love a little better for your self.
