FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
PR Log (Press Release) –
May 26, 2009 – Keith Cochran (best know for his song "Granny's Eyes") will be performing at Campfire Camp Wamatochick in Prescott, AZ; home to Kids ‘n’ Cancer Camp Agape. He will be performing at 'no charge' for this private event. He will also be attending and participating in a Father's Fishing event on Friday. After almost losing his life in a tragic accident; Keith is restarting his career while also assuring he is continually giving back to those in need.
On June 4, 5, 6 and 7, 2009 Kids ‘n’ Cancer Camp Agape will be providing an all expense paid summer camp experience to hundreds of children with cancer and their families, from less fortunate homes, regardless of ethnic background or religious affiliation.
Camp Agape was designed as a haven for the entire family because cancer affects the entire family. At camp, families can enjoy four carefree summer days away from the sights and sounds of doctors, laboratories, and hospitals where they spend so much of their lives.
In cooperation with Phoenix Children’s Hospital, the camp is sponsored by the Ladies Philoptochos Society, a non-profit philanthropic group under the Greek Orthodox Metropolis of San Francisco. Philoptochos, a Greek word meaning friend of the poor, is comprised of more than 28,000 ladies dedicated to serving the needy.
Since its first camp in 1989, Kids ‘n’ Cancer Camp Agape has grown from a single camp into a five camp operation benefiting children with cancer and other life threatening diseases.
The event schedule includes; picnics, archery, kayaking, fishing, hiking, spa, horseback riding, dancing, an auction and live music from Keith Cochran at the nightly campfire song sessions.

KEITH COCHRAN INFORMATION:
Have you met Keith Cochran? It wouldn’t take you more than a second to answer if you had.
KEITH IS A BOOT-STRAP ARTIST WHO HAS NEVER FAILED TO CAPTIVATE HIS AUDIENCE.
Keith is not only an all-around entertainer, performer, communicator, singer, musician and songwriter...but more importantly a great man that cares about his audience as much as his audience cares about him. There are things that can’t be hidden behind a performance; those include honor, value and moral character…each of which is a staple in Keith’s life. He has played chicken coops, cow pastures, school programs (from 10 to 4,000 students) and Black-Tie events. He has played small stages, big stages, no stages, fairs and festivals throughout the United States, Switzerland and Canada from 100 up to 25,000 people. When you love to perform; the venue is not as important as the audience and opportunity to tell your story. If that’s not enough, he has given back to our troops and leaders by performing to 35,000 battle-hardened troops and a US President at 6:00 am with only his guitar, heart and voice. Once again, have you met Keith Cochran? If you haven’t, it’s about time you did.
Keith delivers his music and song with the fiery passion of a country preacher at Sunday mass! His songs and music come from deep within his soul through a heart full of pride and an unparalleled love for life and entertaining. Grammy- winning engineer Tom Pick said, “He has a voice, not to the people, but for the people; the only one out there today that comes close to Cochran is Chesney!” This is a comparison that would make any artist proud to have attributed to them. Robert K. Oermann (Music Row Magazine), said about Keith Cochran and his cut of “Long Black Veil,” “Lefty Frizzell, you ain’t. But when you’ve got a hold of one of the greatest country songs ever written, it doesn’t really matter. He takes it slowly and deliberately, making you hang on every line, as you should!”
Cochran’s moral fiber is tightly wound of country pride, family values and pure unadulterated honor. He writes about some of life’s most simple but poignant stories... “Granny’s Eyes”, is about his childhood relationship with his Grandmother. “I Can’t Wait To Be Like That Man” about the respect he holds for his Grandfather. “Good Mornin’ ” is about a love in his life. “A Place To Drink” well we won’t go into details – but Keith does in his song and it just adds to a life full of experience and lyrics.
Keith was once asked, ‘How do you hear and describe your music?’ He answered very quickly and quietly...
“I have four words: Love, Life, Family and Fun. I write Love, Life and Family into my music; when I sing someone else’s songs I sing about Love, Life and Family. My songs are taken from the ‘reels’ of life, everyday things that everyone can relate with. My music and songs are not intended to take you away from your problems, but to put you in a frame of mind to help you deal more clearly with them. Family is where morals, respect, anger, trust and just plain ole life get started. Family and Fun...that’s me, that’s what I write and that’s what I sing. THE FUN IS JUST DOING WHAT I DO!”
