For the love of pete!, a premier pet boutique and website located in Richmond Virginia’s Libbie and Grove shopping area, is introducing a novel way to recycle gently used collars, leashes and other pet items. The store currently offers a 10% discount on new collars and leashes when customers bring in items to donate to local rescue groups. Now, customers can either donate these items or consign them in a new program called “re-pete!”. Items not sold within 30 days will be picked up or donated to shelters.
“We think this program will continue to help us support pet rescue and gives customers a way to re-cycle and earn money towards their future purchases. It solves the problem of what to do with collars or pet apparel that puppies outgrow and it makes sense from and ecological and economical perspective”
For the love of pete! offers discounts to customers who adopt pets and won the 2007 Planet Dog Adoption award.
