Bruce Gallipani, Director of the Rockit for Kids music group based in Red Bank NJ has announced the next audition date for aspiring young rockers. Auditions will be held Sunday, June 14th from 10am-6pm at 99 Monmouth Street in Red Bank (Next door to the Basie Theatre Patron's lounge) for the August 29th concert at the Count Basie Theatre.
The young rockers of Rockit for Kids have been busing drumming up excitement for their band with two live performances in March, opening for the Marshall Tucker Band in April, a Benefit concert for the Bolger Middle School in Keansburg, and competing in the Battle of the Bands in Belmar (members of Rockit took first place!).
The audition fee is $10 and registration is open to guitarists, drummers, vocalists, bassists, keyboardists, brass and string players. Space is limited. Each week for 6 weeks, students attend a 55-minute band class with specialized instructors. The end result is a well-orchestrated ensemble of young rockers who perform live concerts in front of a packed audience.
Registration information is available at http://www.rockitforkids.org/
