The new engine in the 2009 manages to be more powerful and more fuel-efficient than the previous year’s as well.  Toyota offers a V-6 for the Rav4, but based the opinions of the sales representatives at the Peoria dealer, the larger engine is not necessary.  It could be considered an over-the-top option for a car that is one of the best Peoria fuel-efficient vehicles anyone can purchase.  However, for buyers who want that extra muscle, the fuel economy doesn’t suffer terribly when upgrading to six cylinders.
