Planet Green TV recently aired a segment  that featured the use of the Shower Manager as a means to save money, save water and save energy.   The unit was provided to a family that was less than green friendly with eco abuses in their daily life including excessive water consumption.  It was calculated their present showering habits wasted over 250 gallons / day with their young teenage daughter’s 45 minute showers being the biggest culprit.  With the use of the Shower Manager, their water and energy consumption were cut significantly, in fact, saving over 200 gallons of water per day.

The Shower Manager is a fully automated two-phase device that gives the bather the best of both worlds; a full-flow of water for a preset time frame followed by a restricted-flow.  This restricted flow provides only 1/3 of normal flow or just enough to finish rinsing, but not enough to encourage continued showering.   The head-of-household programs in one of three full-flow time settings of 5, 8 or 11 minutes using a special magnetic sensor.   Sixty (60) seconds before the end of the preset full-flow time setting, the unit emits a beeping sound altering the shower taker the flow will soon change.

The unit installs in minutes and fits to existing showerheads. An important safety feature is the mixture of hot/cold water remains with the main shower control.  A 5-minute reset interval prevents a bather from extending their shower.  Bathers typically prefer the concept of a Shower Manager over a low-flow showerhead in that they still can enjoy a full and invigorating full of water often needed to rinse a full head of hair, a common complaint by women of low-flow showerheads. No electrical connections are required as the unit is powered by a small 9-volt battery, the same as used in a transistor radio.

Global Network Solutions, the manufacturer of the Shower Manager, offers a quick way to calculate the potential dollar savings in shower water and energy usage.  This interactive calculator allows the homeowner to insert their current water and energy rates and calculate the savings using different full-flow water time settings. A quick use of this informative tool shows firsthand the dramatic savings that can be realized in the shower stall.  Parents with teens who take extended showers find this tool especially useful.  This tool can be found at http://www.ShowerManager.com/savings.

The savings or cost recovery of a new device is an important consideration in today’s difficult economic climate.  In a family of four, if two children cut their showering times from 30 minutes to 11 minutes, the savings in water and energy are over $397.00 annually.  Using this example, with the savings realized using the Shower Manager would pay for itself in less than 5 months, an almost unheard of cost recovery period for a household energy saving device.  The savings are not only in dollars, but also in the peace and harmony restored with the less friction in the household over showering times.   The Shower Manager also serves as a low flow showerhead in that in complies with government guidelines of not delivering more than 2.5 gpm at 80 psi.

The Shower Manager is USA made product available only over the Internet at http://www.ShowerManager.com.  For additional information contact Don Brunkhardt, Founder, at don@ShowerManager.com or 303-695-5540.
