May 24, 2009 -
Community organizers across Los Angeles have joined together to help the Soldiers' Angels collect and send clothing, blankets, phone cards and other necessities to our wounded soldiers from Iraq and Afghanistan who are recuperating from injuries at the Landstuhl Regional Medical Center in Germany. New items will be collected at over 15 locations throughout the Los Angeles area from May 26-29. The week long collection will conclude on May 30th with a ‘Sorting/Packing Party’ from 10:00am to 4:00pm at Culver Studios in Culver City, CA.

Green teamed with Stacy Cohen and Jeff Gabriel, all former Obama campaign workers, to organize this grassroots event which now reaches from San Pedro to Hollywood. Soldiers’
Angels, a non-profit, all volunteer group based in Pasadena, CA, has over thirty teams of military and civilian volunteers supporting all branches of the U.S. Armed Forces. “We are thrilled about this Memorial Day collection event,” said Joan Sandoval, a director for Soldiers’ Angels. “The increase in military activity in the region unfortunately translates directly to an increase in the needs of our wounded soldiers. So we are very grateful for this help and I know first hand how very much it means to our men and women in the Armed Forces.”
