When anyone thinks about mobile, a mobile handset or a handheld device will bound to come in his mind. So it will be quite unrealistic to think that how a VSAT can go mobile. This was what we had seen in Digital March 2009, an event organized by Internet Service Providers Association of Bangladesh (ISPAB) in association with BTRC to develop villages through Information Technology especially schools and colleges.
ISPAB Digital March 2009 was a 4-day (13-16 May) nationwide digital rally for raising internet, awareness, information security awareness and celebrating World Telecommunication and Information Society Day (WTISD)-2009. A fleet of 10 microbuses with mobile VSAT, high tech digital gadgets and logistics escorted industry IT Gurus from Dhaka to Chittagong.
ADN, a nationwide Internet and Data service provider, provided internet connectivity to this road show by a mobile VSAT. The antenna of 1.2 meter diameter was set into a custom build track. Only a slight modification in alignment was required while traveling from one place to others.
