Figure Competition Diets: The sudden growth of figure competitions, a milder form of bodybuilding, has greatly increased the popularity of the sport but also has created some alarming concerns. Specifically the competition diet that many competitors follow can be unhealthy and sometimes border on starvation.
Figure coach Terry Stokes has designed a step-by-step guide for competitors to follow when dieting for a competition. The book contains 31 different diets to follow and is designed to add variety to a diet that needs to be low in calories (figure competition diets need to be lower in calories than the normal diet).
Being the trainer to several pro figure competitors and having seen many competitors become ill from poor diets he set out to develop a method whereby figure competitors can diet safely without having to resort to unhealthy tactics to lose body fat. Each meal is specific to the gram and leaves no room for error or guessing.
Terry wanted to reach those who are in the dark side of the sport, the side no one wants to talk about. The recovering anorexics, bulimics etc., who sometimes have an affinity for figure competition and the strict diets necessary to get lean enough to compete. They often resort to unhealthy means to get ready for a show. This book shows them that they can eat 5 or more times a day and still lose weight and be much healthier. The book is structured in a way that gives the individual complete control over the foods they eat.
