International hotel groups continue to expand their interest in Phuket with announcements this week from both Summit Hotels & Resorts and Hotel Representation Australia that they have signed new deals in Phuket.
Summit Hotels & Resorts, a brand of Preferred Hotel Group, have announced their latest acquisition, La Flora Resort in Patong. This will expand their portfolio to over 150 internationally acclaimed hotels and resorts.
"Phuket has always been one of Asia's most popular resort destinations for the international leisure and MICE markets with great air access. With its prime location in the Patong Beach area, La Flora's stylish design matched with Thai hospitality is a great addition to the Summit portfolio," said Mark Simmons, Area Managing Director, Asia.

La Flora Resort Patong is designed in a contemporary style and is situated on a 5000m2 site on the edge of Patong Beach. The hotel has 67 rooms and villas featuring private balconies to enjoy the wonderful ocean views.
Hotel Representation Australia (HRA) also signed new deals this week adding hotels in Thailand, Malaysia and Myanmar.
In Thailand, HRA signed two properties belonging to the South Sea Group, The Karon in Phuket and The South Sea Grand in Phang Nga.
The addition and re-branding of hotels in Phuket shows continued confidence in the Island which has become one of Asia's premier holiday destinations. The five star Paresa located in Kamala on Phukets prestigious 'Millionaires Mile' is due to open this July and is already seeing bookings for rooms priced from 695$US.
Paresa's general manager, Scott Toon had this to say, "Luxury travellers are still travelling in droves but many are looking for something extra," The Paresa is planning to attract travellers by offering private pool villas with attractive introductory rates and extras such as transfers and daily canapes.
