Yamgo, the mobile TV streaming experts, launches IPL T20 in association with Zenga Entertainment Pvt Ltd., the Custodian of the Exclusive Worldwide Mobile Rights for IPLT20 for 5 years ending 2013 (a company based out of New Delhi, India), to enable phone users to watch the matches across Europe.
Across Europe, phone users will be able to watch LIVE every ball of every game for the rest of the tournament (licensing restrictions prevent this service in the UK), up to and including the final on May 24!
The new service is expected to attract a high level of mobile viewers and advertisers – the IPL Twenty20 features the world’s top cricketers playing the most exciting version of the game.
Yamgo’s founder and CEO, Ian Mullins explained how easy the service is to use: ‘From today millions of phone owners will be able to enjoy the brilliant IPL Twenty20. There are more than 1000 different types of phones and devices on which cricket fans can watch Twenty20 finals.
‘Consumers across Europe will be able to watch the remaining matches and finals on their mobile devices simply by visiting Yamgo’s mobile website http://www.yamgo.mobi and clicking on a button.
‘There is nothing to pay and no software to download.
‘Click the link and our software recognises the handset and network speed and delivers the best quality stream for that particular device.
‘The solution is optimised for 3G phones but dynamically adapts to 2.5G or WiFi speeds delivering the best quality of service possible under different network conditions.
‘Cricket attracts large TV audiences and regardless of where you are you can now watch the best moments from every IPL Twenty20 game on your mobile device, including iPhones, and watch the whole thing live in the rest of Europe.’
Yamgo takes the live TV feed – provided by Zenga entertainment – and processes it in its automated real-time encoding platform, which optimises the live video stream for different networks and different phones.
Mr Mullins added: ‘This is the first major sports event that Yamgo is offering live and negotiations are well advanced with a number of other high profile TV content providers and we are confident that we will be making more announcements in the forthcoming months.’
Shabir Momin, Founder and CEO of Zenga Entertainment, is bullish about this relationship and is looking forward to serving a vast user base worldwide with this exciting sport. He adds this is just the beginning and the years to come will change the way users access and witness content on phones. We have successfully launched the mobile TV service in India on a 2G network and expects equal or better experience in the market Yamgo is serving with their technology platform.
